How Does Ordering In Bulk Work?

Ordering bulk is a great way to save money. Here are 3 keys to ordering in bulk:

Large Quantities

    Beef Minimum 100 lbs | Pork Minimum 100 lbs | Lamb Minimum 20 lbs

    You MUST pick up directly from the butcher in Greenleaf, ID.

    This is where the biggest price savings comes from!

    It is seasonal, only offered in the spring and fall.

    In season with our production and when animals are most ready for harvest.

    Why is it so much cheaper to buy in bulk?

    • There are a few reasons why it's so cheap:
    • You are apart of the process: By picking up the meat directly from Greenleaf Meat Packing in Greenleaf, ID. That saves a lot of money in labor that you don't have to pay for.
    • A lower priced butcher: Greenleaf Meat Packing is a smaller meat processor and has cheaper prices than the processor we use for our retail cuts.
    • You are buying more meat, which we offer discounts for: Our bulk harvest requires you to buy more meat than our normal retail boxes offer, so we give you more of a discount.
    • No Sales Tax: Since we are technically an Oregon based business you are technically buying our meat in Oregon when you buy bulk, that means we don't have to charge sales tax. That's a HUGE savings over buying our retail cuts that are sold in Idaho and subject to Idaho sales tax.

    If I miss this bulk order will I get another chance later?

    Yes! Make sure you are on our email list to keep updated about our bulk sales! We are now harvesting on a monthly basis, so if you miss one ordering period another one is not too far off.

    What cuts do I get when I order bulk pork?

    • It will depend on your cut order but here are some of the basic cuts you can order:
    • Ground Pork (or Ground Sausage if desired), Loin Chops, Rib Chops, Shoulder Roasts, Spare Ribs, Ham Roast (if curing is chosen), Bacon (if curing is chosen if not, it's side pork), Hocks, Backfat (for making lard),Organs

    What cuts do I get when I order bulk premium beef?

    • It will depend on your cut order but here are some of the basic cuts you can order:
    • Ground Beef, Ribeye Steaks, New York Steaks, Sirloin Steaks, Fillet Mignon, Flank Steak, Short Ribs, Stew Meat, Roasts, Brisket, Bones, Organs: Tongue, Heart, Liver (upon request)

    What cuts do I get when I order bulk lamb?

    It will depend on your cut order but here are some of the basic cuts you can order:

    • Leg of Lamb, Lamb Chops, Rack of Lamb, Shoulder Steaks, Stew Meat, Ground Lamb

    How Much Freezer Space Do I Need?

    Here's the basic measurements for freezer space:

    • 20 lbs of meat - 1 cubic foot
    • 50 lbs of meat - 2 cubic feet
    • 100 lbs of meat - 4 cubic feet 
    • 200 lbs of meat - 6 cubic feet 
    • 400 lbs of meat- 12 cubic feet
